CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS: Southern Alberta is open to students who live in the Alberta borders south of the City of Red Deer. Students who live within and north of Red Deer are asked to enter CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS: Central Alberta.
Students within Southern Alberta are invited to submit proposals that answer the question...
“What can you do to improve your watershed?"
- Students will compete for $6,500 in rewards
- Participating schools are eligible for $11,500 in rewards
- Students who implement their ideas are eligible for additional funding
2010 Winners Announced
Thank you to all of the students who participated in this contest. Over 200 entries were received!
Grades 7-9 Category: The $1,000 first place prize was awarded to Sierra Harty for her proposal called, "Green is Great - Trails and Signs."
Grades 10-12 Category: The $1,000 first place prize was awarded to Cameron Reed for his proposal called, "Reducing the Impact of Golf Courses on the Bow River Waterhsed."
