CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS: Southern Alberta is open to students who live in the Alberta borders south of and including the city of Calgary. Students who live north of Calgary are asked to enter CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS: Central Alberta.

Students within Southern Alberta are invited to submit proposals that answer the question...

“What can you do to improve your watershed?"

  • Students will compete for over $6,000
  • Participating schools are eligible for over $11,000 
  • Students who implement their ideas are eligible for $10,000

2012 Winners Announced

Thank you to all of the students, teachers and volunteers who participated. Over 100 entries were received. In a verbal competition on May 12, 2012 at Ralph Klein Park the top entries presented their project ideas.

The $1,000 first place prize was awarded to David Hudson, Brooke Franchuk and Ali Evans from Centennial High School for their proposal called, "Rain Gardens Campaign."
